Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Public School Funding in Montana is at an inadequate level. SO
2. Parents should have greater freedom to choose how and where their children are educated, including options such as education savings accounts, tax credits, vouchers, or other school-choice mechanisms. SS
3. Parents should be allowed to homeschool their children without additional state regulation SS
4. Curricula based on Critical Race Theory (CRT) should be prohibited in Montana public schools SS
5. Comprehensive sex education should be taught in public elementary schools, beginning as early as kindergarten. SO* Public school funding should be limited to the mechanism spelled out clearly in the Montana Constitution...proceeds from state lands. Children are not wards of the state in any way. Parents should have utter and complete freedom in how they raise, and particularly educate, their children. This assumes the demands of God's Law in raising children. It does not allow for parental abuse of their children as defined by God's Word, but gives parents complete freedom, in raising their children as they see fit, in the Lord. Parents should be allowed to homeschool their children without ANY state regulation. Our children are not 'pupils'.I would not support any state sponsored or financed or controlled system of finance related to children's education. This includes tax credits or vouchers or education savings accounts which are tied to the state in any way. This ultimately leads to state control through dictating terms or funds or withholding of such if compliance to state whims is not met. The one who takes the king's coin becomes the king's man no matter how brightly it glitters at first sight.Public School cirricula should be explicitly and ONLY Christian. You cannot truly educate *anyone* if the source of all truth and knowledge is stripped from the instruction. There is no logical reason for any school to teach "sex" education, especially not a godless and wicked school system that cannot recognize "male' or "female'.In fuller answer to the first question: Public School funding IS at an *inadequate* level... it is far, far (if I were to write enough "fars", I suppose even the world itself could not contain the books it would fill) too high.
6. Montana’s income taxes are too high. SS
7. Montana’s property taxes are too high SS
8. Montana’s corporate taxes are too high SS* I advocate for a voluntary tax system, one structured according to the Give-Send-Go model. Each government department could post a website where they would receive the level of funding the public deems as adequate. To eschew the noble, generous hard-working Montanans by accusing them of NOT supporting their cherished schools and other societal programs, demeans the character of all of our neighbors. To paraphrase scripture, where our hearts are, there will our treasure be also. Montanans would be sure to support fully all programs they found necessary. This is how every charity, church and donation supported entity operates in the state, let alone how the free market operates. Let the People decide, not the bureaucrats.Scripture never allows the magistrate to coercively seize a man's property against his will outside of just restitution. To forcibly take someone's property against their will is theft.
9. The Second Amendment protects the right of law-abiding citizens to own firearms for self-defense. SS
10. Montanans should not be discriminated against or treated differently based on their vaccination status. SS* Self-defense is not only a right, but a responsibility which comes from God, it is not a privilege granted by the state. The Second Amendment was only meant to specify this innate right in the Constitution to make it absolutely clear that Congress could never, in any way, infringe on this right. It was also originally intended not for mere personal self-defense, but as a community's way of throwing off a tyrannical government and setting up a new one which was better suited to defend our right to life, liberty and property. Yet, here we are.'My body, my choice' regarding vaccinations.
11. Climate change is a serious problem that requires increased government regulation. SO
12. Environmental regulations in Montana are currently too restrictive. SS* The climate change trumpeted today is a hoax. It is a fraud.Environmental damages should be adjudicated, not regulated. If I pollute my neighbor's property, I should be made to give restitution and rectify the pollution. The same for businesses. We do not need county or state inspectors and approval departments. It should be the onus of the private person to hire someone to, for example, tell them where the best location is for their well and septic. If damages follow, the private person is liable and, if the contract stipulates, he may in turn hold the private consultant liable for malpractice.
13. Abortion should be illegal at all stages of pregnancy. SS
14. Abortion should be legal only in the early stages of pregnancy and restricted after a specific point, except when necessary to save the life of the mother. SO
15. Abortion should remain legal at all stages of pregnancy, without restriction. SO
16. Individuals and organizations should be allowed to opt out of abortion-related mandates, if those mandates violate their religious or moral convictions. SS
17. Physician-assisted suicide should be legal in Montana. SO* These seem painfully obvious.
18. Biological males who identify as transgender should be allowed to compete in women’s and girl's athletic competitions. SO
19. Medical procedures intended to change a minor’s sex or gender should be prohibited. SS
20. Same-sex couples should be permitted to adopt children. SO
21. State and local nondiscrimination laws should be expanded to include sexual orientation and gender identity in the same manner as race, religion, and national origin. SO
22. Montana’s marriage laws should be revised to reflect the U.S. Supreme Court’s legalization of same-sex marriage. SO* God created them male and female...For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, then they should be fruitful and multiply. All else is wicked and an abomination to God.
23. Objective moral truths exist and should inform laws and public policy, rather than shifting cultural preferences. SS
24. Government should be limited in scope, with most decisions best made by individuals, families, and local communities rather than centralized authorities. SS
25. Homosexuals and transgender people should be allowed to adopt children: SO
26. Personal responsibility and self-governance are more effective at solving social problems than expanded government programs: SS
27. Parents—not government institutions—are the primary authority responsible for the education and moral formation of their children: SS* Truth can only be defined according to God's Word. There are absolutely zero 'objective moral truths' outside of God's Word. Montana should be governed by judges who ONLY adjudicate according to God's Law. Anything else is 'adding to or taking away" from His Law. Unless the Lord builds the house, those who labor, labor in vain.Society can only function with a religious and moral people capable of Christian self-government. All else devolves into chaos. We will have Christ or chaos. The temptation to surrender self-government to the state is the temptation to desire 'a king like the nations to rule over us and go before us'. Self-governing people acknowledge 'no king but King Jesus'. This is what our founding generation cried out in the face of the tyrant King George. The MCA volume of fig leaves grows year by year and chaos in Montana only increases proportionally.Homosexuality has become accepted even in 'conservative' circles. It is destructive to any society and has historically and universally been seen as a perversion.
