| 1. Public School Funding in Montana is at an inadequate level. | O | |
| 2. Parents should have greater freedom to choose how and where their children are educated, including options such as education savings accounts, tax credits, vouchers, or other school-choice mechanisms. | O* | There is enough money collected from taxpayers to fund the school system, the problem is that the money is combined with other state categories and the algorithm shortfalls the school budget and makes money available for other "pet" legislator projects. I have spoken with homeschool parents and they overwhelmingly agree that they do have options on schooling their children currently. However, they see the "vouchers", and other school choice mechanisms as a means for the government to infiltrate education at an even deeper level and that ultimately these mechanisms will allow the government to put a strangle hold on parents leaving our children to be vulnerable to government ideology even more so than they already are. The school system as seen by John Dewey has went from a seed of socialism/communism and grown into a mature plant over 100 years later with children and parents suffering from it. Parents need to have the option to educate their children unencumbered and without indoctrination from government influence. |
| 3. Parents should be allowed to homeschool their children without additional state regulation | SS | |
| 4. Curricula based on Critical Race Theory (CRT) should be prohibited in Montana public schools | SS | |
| 5. Comprehensive sex education should be taught in public elementary schools, beginning as early as kindergarten. | SO* | My wife and I have seen first hand the destruction of the family through government involvement in "sex education". It starts early and by the time our children reached high school the system allowed adult LGBTQ individuals access to our underage minor children without our knowledge or consent. If that is not allowing adults to sexually groom our children then I would like to hear and see the school system administrators defend their position publicly to parents on how this is not grooming and that they are not allowing sexual predators to have access to our children. Montana's public school system does not understand the difference between education and indoctrination. Unless of course it has to do with sound biblical principles. |
| 6. Montana’s income taxes are too high. | SS | |
| 7. Montana’s property taxes are too high | SS | |
| 8. Montana’s corporate taxes are too high | SO* | The formation of our country started because of unfair taxation. When someone takes something from you without your permission it is defined as theft. Our Founding Fathers saw commerce/tariffs and the participation in capitalism as the means in which our government would collect money to support progress and protect the people. As time went on that responsibility shifted from commerce/tariffs to the creation of a debtor society with the citizens paying for everything while the corporate class rose up and created an elite society of CEO's, board members, etc. We need to get back to the original model of commerce/tariffs, no taxes on the people to simply exist. No society in the history of humanity has taxed its way to prosperity. Our Founding Fathers saw commerce/tariffs and freewill as the means for a society to stand the test of time. We need to get back to that. Our challenge as Montanans is to figure out how to make this happen. We have the resources. |
| 9. The Second Amendment protects the right of law-abiding citizens to own firearms for self-defense. | SS* | I strongly support the right of the people to keep and bear arms, and that it shall not be infringed. |
| 10. Montanans should not be discriminated against or treated differently based on their vaccination status. | SS* | We have seen the fallout from the Covid vaccinations as the perfect example of government run healthcare and protection. As soon as a person is forced to put something in their body they lose their sovereignty as a person created by God. |
| 11. Climate change is a serious problem that requires increased government regulation. | SO | |
| 12. Environmental regulations in Montana are currently too restrictive. | SS* | Has anyone noticed the difference in the jet stream here in Montana since the government started building wind farms? When I was attending college and focusing on construction related classes I had a professor that asked the class what they thought was the number one polluter in our world. Of course the first answers to be shouted were automobiles or anything related to them. My professor sat quietly and smiled. "Nope!" he said. The number one polluter on the planet or in our atmosphere was the production, pouring, and curing of concrete. This was in 1999. With that knowledge we need to rethink all of the propaganda and social hysteria that has been forced on us in the past 27 years.Has anyone heard of the federal Equal Access to Justice? This was enacted in 1980 as a means for Vietnam era veterans who suffered from agent orange exposure to afford representation against the government. Have you wondered what happened to the harvesting of Montana's natural resources since 1980? The Equal Access to Justice act has been misused for its intended purpose by environmental groups to stop logging, mining and other harvesting of Montana's resources, and to add insult to injury, legal counsel gets reimbursed by the government whether they win or lose attempting to block the people of Montana from harvesting and managing the resources of OUR state. (taxpayer money)The management of Montana's resources also ties back in with being a sustainable means to reduce taxes that are imposed on Montana's families. |
| 13. Abortion should be illegal at all stages of pregnancy. | SS* | I personally have been blessed with an experience that proved to me that life begins at conception. I was scheduled with Montana Family Foundation to share this experience, but something went array with scheduling and it did not happen. The only time there is a choice to be made is if the pregnancy threatens the life of and makes the imminent death of the mother a reality. |
| 14. Abortion should be legal only in the early stages of pregnancy and restricted after a specific point, except when necessary to save the life of the mother. | SO | |
| 15. Abortion should remain legal at all stages of pregnancy, without restriction. | SO | |
| 16. Individuals and organizations should be allowed to opt out of abortion-related mandates, if those mandates violate their religious or moral convictions. | SS | |
| 17. Physician-assisted suicide should be legal in Montana. | SO* | In Canada we have witnessed how physician-assisted suicide is growing into more and more situations where the taking of life is justified under the guise of being compassionate and loving. When you open pandora's box and justify one thing where does it stop? Canada is now looking to establish parameters for the euthanasia of mentally ill persons. Where does government sanctioned murder like this stop? With the mentally ill? The elderly? The unborn? |
| 18. Biological males who identify as transgender should be allowed to compete in women’s and girl's athletic competitions. | SO* | When I found out my son had a heart defect during his first ultrasound it led me to pursue knowledge in fetal development. One of the things that I learned in this pursuit to understand the challenges my son was up against was that when a fetus receives its first shot of testosterone it affects the nerve bundle that connects the left and right hemispheres of the brain. This area is known as the Corpus Callosum. Depending on the amount of testosterone that is delivered will influence the connection of nerves from the two hemispheres and as such will effect various functions; movement, sensory processing, and cognition that hard wires male and female distinctions to name a few and the genitals form accordingly to this process. This widely accepted scientific knowledge of fetal development is just some of the knowledge I have gained in the past forty years that is the basis from where I make my decisions concerning gender dysphoria, homosexuality, and marriage in conjunction with my Faith in God and His Divine design. My relationship with God allows me to see that life starts at conception and we are given freewill as He has promised. The responsibility to be kind and benevolent to one another as we pursue His Truth is on us individually. |
| 19. Medical procedures intended to change a minor’s sex or gender should be prohibited. | SS | |
| 20. Same-sex couples should be permitted to adopt children. | SO | |
| 21. State and local nondiscrimination laws should be expanded to include sexual orientation and gender identity in the same manner as race, religion, and national origin. | SO | |
| 22. Montana’s marriage laws should be revised to reflect the U.S. Supreme Court’s legalization of same-sex marriage. | SO | |
| 23. Objective moral truths exist and should inform laws and public policy, rather than shifting cultural preferences. | SS | |
| 24. Government should be limited in scope, with most decisions best made by individuals, families, and local communities rather than centralized authorities. | SS | |
| 25. Homosexuals and transgender people should be allowed to adopt children: | SO | |
| 26. Personal responsibility and self-governance are more effective at solving social problems than expanded government programs: | SS | |
| 27. Parents—not government institutions—are the primary authority responsible for the education and moral formation of their children: | SS* | Our Founding Fathers recognized that less government and more personal responsibility would lead to a healthier society. The role of the church is to be the conscience of the state. |
