Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Pubic Schools in Montana are overfunded: O
2. Pubic Schools in Montana are underfunded: S
3. Pubic Schools in Montana are adequately funded: O
4. Parental choice in education should be expanded through tax credits, education savings accounts, vouchers, and other means to allow children to attend any school of their or their parents choice: O
5. Montana should allow public charter schools: S
6. Parents should be allowed to home school their children without additional state regulation: O
7. The teaching of "Critical Race Theory" (CRT) should be banned in Montana public schools: SO
8. Comprehensive sex education, beginning as early as kindergarten, should be allowed in public elementary schools: -* It is my belief that the role of Public Education is to educate the student based on what the child NEEDS, and that Private Education is to teach what the parents WANTS. If a parent chooses to supplement their child's education at home that is their prerogative.
9. Income taxes in Montana are too high: S
10. Property taxes in Montana are too high: O
11. Corporate taxes in Montana are too high: O
12. The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows all citizens to own firearms for self-protection: SS
13. Global warming is a problem requiring increased regulation: S
14. Environmental regulations in Montana are too stringent: SO
15. Environmental regulations in Montana are NOT stringent enough: S* The Constitution of Montana is very clear that we as Montanans, "...grateful to God for the quiet beauty of our state, the grandeur of our mountains, the vastness of our rolling plains, and desiring to improve the quality of life, equality of opportunity and to secure the blessings of liberty for this and future generations do ordain and establish this constitution." Some jaded souls believe that our Constitution was written by a group of radicals. I believe that both the United States Constitutions AND Montana State Constitutions were written by radicals, and I thank God for their forethought and commitment to the betterment of all of our lives.
16. Montanans should not be discriminated against or treated differently because of their vaccine status: S* The timeline of 'COVID-19' is one of learning, conflicting advice, and a mountain of misinformation. I believe that what we know at this time, the way our society reacted to COVID-19 was almost, if not more damaging to our society than the virus itself. I pray that we all learn, from all of our mistakes.
17. Doctor assisted suicide should be legal in Montana: S
18. Abortion should be banned in ALL stages of pregnancy: SO
19. Abortion should be banned during all stages of pregnancy, with the exceptions for rape and incest: SO
20. Abortion should be banned only after a heartbeat is detected (around 6 weeks): SO
21. Abortion should be banned only after the first trimester (12 weeks): SO
22. Abortion should be banned only when a fetus becomes viable outside the womb (20 weeks): SO
23. Abortion should be banned only after the 2nd trimester (28 weeks): SO
24. Abortion should never be banned, not at any stage of pregnancy: O
25. The Montana Constitution should be amended to ban abortion: SO
26. Infanticide (infants born alive with physical abnormalities, including infants born as a result of a botched abortion) should be banned in Montana. S
27. Companies and individuals should be allowed to opt-out of the abortion related mandates contained in Obamacare: SO* *The question of Infanticide is not written very well in my opinion. It appears as though the question is asking whether children born with physical abnormalities should be killed upon birth? Obviously I would strongly Oppose such a decree. I am humble enough to admit I may simply not be understanding the question. Please let it be known that I believe we should all have a conversation about VALUES before POLICIES... as such I would like nothing more than to see the number of abortions in Montana drop to, and stay at ZERO... through additional funding for free contraceptives, expanded sex education in schools, and via other social agencies. Thus far, anti-abortion laws across our nation, including the 20-week ban in Montana are destined to failure. Even if I were to ignore the Rights of Women to make the choice for themselves, there is no additional funding to help curb the tsunami of additional strain on our public agencies when additional unwanted children are forced to be born as a result of such a short-sighted law.
28. Transgender athletes should be allowed to compete against athletes of the opposite sex: O
29. Doctors should be banned from performing sex-change procedures on minors: O
30. Homosexuals and transgender people should be allowed to adopt children: SS
31. Non-discrimination laws should be expanded to protect sexual orientation and gender identity in the same way that race, creed, nationality, and religion are protected: SS
32. Montana’s marriage laws should be changed to reflect the recent legalization of same-sex marriage by the U.S. Supreme Court: S* At this time, the subject of transgender athletes competing in competition is one that I have a tough time, personally, in wrapping my head around. I believe transgender athletes certainly have a right to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness... as we all do, and pray that in the near future this particular subject finds a solution that we all can support.
