Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Pubic Schools in Montana are overfunded: SS
2. Pubic Schools in Montana are underfunded: SO
3. Pubic Schools in Montana are adequately funded: S
4. Parental choice in education should be expanded through tax credits, education savings accounts, vouchers, and other means to allow children to attend any school of their or their parents choice: SS
5. Montana should allow public charter schools: SS
6. Parents should be allowed to home school their children without additional state regulation: SS
7. The teaching of "Critical Race Theory" (CRT) should be banned in Montana public schools: SS
8. Comprehensive sex education, beginning as early as kindergarten, should be allowed in public elementary schools: SO* I believe we are at the crossroads of American history - and now, more than ever, we need to retake the wheelhouse. Maybe next to guns and God, nothing scares the modern Left more than the American nuclear family. As we all know, there are few things in life as formidable as a cohesive family united under shared Judaeo-Christian values. I am running on a platform of Faith, Family and Freedom - and I will spend every waking minute of my time in the Montana Legislature fighting for Montana families and their rights to prosper and safely pursue happiness. Not to sound too dramatic, but the strongest link in the American chain is the family unit. If that link erodes, so too does the entire chain. It is that exact sentiment why "fighting for Montana families" is a hill on which I am prepared to die!!! God bless. James Cocco / HD65 candidate www.coccoformontana.com
9. Income taxes in Montana are too high: S
10. Property taxes in Montana are too high: SS
11. Corporate taxes in Montana are too high: S
12. The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows all citizens to own firearms for self-protection: SS
13. Global warming is a problem requiring increased regulation: SO
14. Environmental regulations in Montana are too stringent: SS
15. Environmental regulations in Montana are NOT stringent enough: SO* In the last two years, we have seen Gallatin County - and much of Montana - grow at exponential rates. And while there are many upsides to this, there are just as many downsides. Simply put, we are in a housing crisis that is having some very real and painful consequences. Among them is a shrinking middle class who are being priced out of our valley, as well as soon-to-be meteoric rises in property taxes - which will also force already high rents ever higher. Living in God’s Country is a wonderful thing for which we should all be grateful. But at what cost? I think it’s high time our state legislature addresses this explosive growth because clearly there is no end in sight. If I get to Helena, I will work fervently with Republicans and Democrats to find a reasonable and sensible remedy to this problem.
16. Montanans should not be discriminated against or treated differently because of their vaccine status: SS* I am not anti-vaccination. What I am against is any government suspending our Constitutional rights because of a health "emergency." I will always fight for Montanans to have the right to make medical decisions based on their own consciences - not some appointed bureaucrat in D.C.
17. Doctor assisted suicide should be legal in Montana: SO
18. Abortion should be banned in ALL stages of pregnancy: SS
19. Abortion should be banned during all stages of pregnancy, with the exceptions for rape and incest: SO
20. Abortion should be banned only after a heartbeat is detected (around 6 weeks): SO
21. Abortion should be banned only after the first trimester (12 weeks): SO
22. Abortion should be banned only when a fetus becomes viable outside the womb (20 weeks): SO
23. Abortion should be banned only after the 2nd trimester (28 weeks): SO
24. Abortion should never be banned, not at any stage of pregnancy: SO
25. The Montana Constitution should be amended to ban abortion: S
26. Infanticide (infants born alive with physical abnormalities, including infants born as a result of a botched abortion) should be banned in Montana. SS
27. Companies and individuals should be allowed to opt-out of the abortion related mandates contained in Obamacare: S* I believe life begins at conception. The miracle of life is a gift from God and the murder of babies at any stage in development is morally wrong and we should do everything we can to lawfully protect the unborn. Roe vs Wade ushered in the greatest genocide in our nation's history. I am running for House District 65 with the primary intent to protect the unborn. When I get to God's Kingdom, I want nothing more than for God to say, "well done my good and faithful servant."
28. Transgender athletes should be allowed to compete against athletes of the opposite sex: SO
29. Doctors should be banned from performing sex-change procedures on minors: SS
30. Homosexuals and transgender people should be allowed to adopt children: O
31. Non-discrimination laws should be expanded to protect sexual orientation and gender identity in the same way that race, creed, nationality, and religion are protected: O
32. Montana’s marriage laws should be changed to reflect the recent legalization of same-sex marriage by the U.S. Supreme Court: O* I am a firm believer that God purposely created man and woman. God does not make mistakes. Supporting the funding of sex change for minors is wrong and should constitute child abuse. Men and women are uniquely different and bring complementary strengths to the world and the family unit, hence I believe in God's design that children need a mother and father. I am a proponent of the nuclear family. Leftists want nothing more than to destroy the family, do away with gender and sexualize children.
