Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Pubic Schools in Montana are overfunded: O
2. Pubic Schools in Montana are underfunded: S
3. Pubic Schools in Montana are adequately funded: O
4. Parental choice in education should be expanded through tax credits, education savings accounts, vouchers, and other means to allow children to attend any school of their or their parents choice: S
5. Montana should allow public charter schools: SS
6. Parents should be allowed to home school their children without additional state regulation: S
7. The teaching of "Critical Race Theory" (CRT) should be banned in Montana public schools: SS
8. Comprehensive sex education, beginning as early as kindergarten, should be allowed in public elementary schools: SO* Questions 1-3... Without a tremendous amount of knowledge of this subject, I believe the overall education funding in Montana is close to adequate, but I would like much more information as to which programs are receiving those funds. I believe that we are "bureaucratic heavy" and that more deep investigations need to be made to ensure that the funds are being spent in the most effective manner. Once that is done, then we can discuss the tax credits and other financial questions in regards to alternate means of education.
9. Income taxes in Montana are too high: S
10. Property taxes in Montana are too high: SS
11. Corporate taxes in Montana are too high: S
12. The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows all citizens to own firearms for self-protection: SS
13. Global warming is a problem requiring increased regulation: S
14. Environmental regulations in Montana are too stringent: S
15. Environmental regulations in Montana are NOT stringent enough: O* Global warming is a serious issue, however, it has been used for personal gain instead of being investigated and steps taken with regard to realistic solutions that do not benefit one group or entity, but address the actual issue. Environmental restrictions in MT are not realistic with regard to responsible forest management. Fossil fuels are also abundant in this state and current restrictions are not realistic regarding the growing population and the current dependency on foreign fossil fuel sources.
16. Montanans should not be discriminated against or treated differently because of their vaccine status: SS* No government should be able to mandate vaccines. Requiring proof of vaccine status is a clear violation of HIPPA law, and an overreach of our current government. I am very concerned about this issue and the fact that our government has created laws to circumvent our HIPPA rights to further an agenda is one of the many reason why I have agreed to run for state legislature.
17. Doctor assisted suicide should be legal in Montana: O
18. Abortion should be banned in ALL stages of pregnancy: O
19. Abortion should be banned during all stages of pregnancy, with the exceptions for rape and incest: O
20. Abortion should be banned only after a heartbeat is detected (around 6 weeks): S
21. Abortion should be banned only after the first trimester (12 weeks): SO
22. Abortion should be banned only when a fetus becomes viable outside the womb (20 weeks): SO
23. Abortion should be banned only after the 2nd trimester (28 weeks): SO
24. Abortion should never be banned, not at any stage of pregnancy: S
25. The Montana Constitution should be amended to ban abortion: SS
26. Infanticide (infants born alive with physical abnormalities, including infants born as a result of a botched abortion) should be banned in Montana. SS
27. Companies and individuals should be allowed to opt-out of the abortion related mandates contained in Obamacare: SS* I fully believe that all abortion is wrong. With that said, I recognize that banning all abortion without major societal changes will not stop it, and that dangerous illegal abortions will continue to take place. Despite my personal feelings on this matter, I must be realistic and vote on legislation that will not force women into illegal abortions if possible. I will strongly support legislation that will ban abortion after a heartbeat is detected. I will continue to pray that our society comes to a place of biblical understanding that will not necessitate aborting bad life decisions out of convenience.
28. Transgender athletes should be allowed to compete against athletes of the opposite sex: SO
29. Doctors should be banned from performing sex-change procedures on minors: SS
30. Homosexuals and transgender people should be allowed to adopt children: O
31. Non-discrimination laws should be expanded to protect sexual orientation and gender identity in the same way that race, creed, nationality, and religion are protected: S
32. Montana’s marriage laws should be changed to reflect the recent legalization of same-sex marriage by the U.S. Supreme Court: O* Regarding discrimination: I am against all forms. With this said, if gender identity or gender reassignment are used in a manner that gives unnatural advantage against a particular gender (sports, for example) then that must be considered discrimination as well, but to the natural athlete that competed fairly.
